Beck Mitchell - Marathon Runner
World Marathon Challenge
Have you ever wanted to do something so much but you are just not sure if you've got what it takes? Have you got the determination to have a dream and follow it through?
Until I met Beck Mitchell, and was asked if I could document her journey and preparation to running in the "World Marathon Challenge" in January 2020 I had not even thought this was possible.
I have met many people who challenge themselves to extremes physically (I lived in Queenstown NZ for 7 years). I met people who mountain climbed, hang-glided, did extreme white water kayaking, mountain biking and more. When I first arrived, I met a group of 4 women who were training for “The Great Southern Traverse.” Events that were so far out of my comfort zone it was not funny! But I was in awe and admired and respected their courage and resilience.
So, when Beck told me what her challenge was, I just did not think it possible – but here she is in training – I urge you to take a look at Beck’s website and see if you might be interested in following her journey, and perhaps become a sponsor – and if not you – maybe someone in your friendship or business circle?
Beck is running for a charity close to her heart – Bridge Builders Ltd, a National, not for profit youth organisation, delivering youth services around Australia. As a charity, they don’t receive any funding for the youth services they provide, and rely solely on Business Partnerships, events and volunteers. Beck is hoping to raise $250,000 through this Marathon Challenge.

The World Marathon Challenge is a logistical and physical challenge to run seven marathons on seven continents in seven days.
“In January 2020, I will be embarking on the challenge of a lifetime. I will be running the standard 42.2 km marathon distance in Antarctica, Africa, Australia, Asia, Europe, South America and North America within seven days. The clock starts when I begin my first marathon in Antarctica and I have only 168 hours to complete all seven. This will no doubt be one of the toughest weeks of my life. Through all of my preparation, and the challenge and wonder of the experience – I invite you to be part of the journey.” Beck Mitchell
