3. How much will it cost?
I have a portrait 'starter' collection at $375 - click here to see the details and from there it depends on what you choose to purchase in your design appointment. 4. How far in advance should I book my portrait session?
We all know how busy life is these days, so we recommend, the sooner you book in, the more likely you are to get the date that works for you and your family. Click here to read more about your photography experience.
5. How long is our portrait session?
Generally a portrait session will last anywhere between 1-1.5 hours depending on the day, location and family members participating. Please allow enough time either side of your portrait session so that you are not rushing to either get there, or to leave to go onto another appointment. You need to be able to relax in order to achieve the best final outcomes.
6. How long after our portrait session do we come in for a viewing of our images?
Most times we allow between one to two weeks, depending on the current workload. It is important that all decision makers are present at the time of the viewing, and generally it is advisable that you have your children cared for during this session. We will book in your viewing session at the time of your initial portrait session booking – again this allows for you to choose a date that works for you.
7. Can we have location photography at our favourite place?
Generally I will offer you a selection of locations to choose from in order to obtain quality results. however if you have a favourite place that you go to as a family, I will look at photographing either there or work to choose somewhere similar, but where I knows the light and backdrops are more suitable for the day.
8. What should we wear?
Once you book with Danielle you will have a more detailed discussion on clothing, hair and make-up for the photography session. Danielle will then also send out an information sheet with more information for you to consider. In general try not to wear clothing that is distracting for the viewer of the photo – we want the main focus of the photo to be you! If you want to showcase your family, then organize to co-ordinate your clothing, and the look and feel that you want to portray. We can also assist with this.
9. What to bring?
This is where you start to showcase your families interests and personal style. So I encourage you to bring sports equipment, musical instruments, if you wear hats, scarves, coats, bring these along - we will discuss this further in your booking session. If you have young children, bring snacks and drinks for when they get hungry, and maybe some of their favourite toys - not computer games though - too distracting, and hard to get off once started!
10. Should I get my make-up done professionally?
This is a very personal choice, and although I feel that if you are happy with how you apply your make-up - stick with this, if you are not used to applying make-up and you would like to just have that natural yet finished look, why not spoil yourself and have your make-up and maybe hair done as well. Getting your make-up done does not mean heavy makeup so that you don’t look like you! It just means, professional makeup that can highlight your features, hide your flaws, and generally make you feel great. Professional make-up artists are skilled in creating looks that suit you and your complexion, as well as helping your skin look great in front of the lens. This is an extra fee, and needs to be booked in advance if having Danielle organise your make-up artist. Alternatively, you may already have a make-up artist you already use, and are happy with.
Danielle is happy to recommend a make-up artist that she has worked with many times before if you would like to choose this option.
11. Do we receive the digital files for printing?

For all orders under this amount you are able to purchase the digital negative of any images you have ordered for an additional $150 - these are saved as high resolution at the print size you have ordered.
